2023 Target USA CUP Dorm Advisor

During Target USA CUP, dorms provide a campus living experience for some of the International and United States athletes. We are seeking responsible candidates who will bring diverse backgrounds, and have outgoing personalities for these positions. They must have the ability to adapt and problem solve if any issues arise, work well with a diverse population, and be willing to work long hours.  As an advisor, you will serve as the immediate contact for individuals in your assigned dorm, answer questions, coordinate transportation, and enforce policies. You will be the main contact between Target USA CUP and university staff.   Bilingual candidates are encouraged but not required. You must also stay in the dorm you are assigned during the tournament. Food will be provided.

Dates: July 13-23, 2023

   Intern must be available 100% of the time for the dates listed above.

Compensation

This position has a set stipend pay of $1,200.

Tournament Event Staff

Position Information 

•    Entry Level: $15/hr. - $17/hr.
•    Hours Per Week: Varies based on-campus events
•    Location: National Sports Center
•    Sport event management, customer service

Schedule 

The schedule will vary based on events, primarily evenings and weekends. 

Position Description 

The National Sports Center is looking for an energetic, self motivated individual with an outgoing personality, hard work ethic and an interest in sport event management. This individual will be a representation of the National Sports Center. 

Position Responsibilities 

•    Assist with tournament related matters. Including but not limited to, registration, score entry, awards, runner errands, and referee check-in.
•    Provide excellent customer service.
•    Serve as extension of tournament staff in absence of tournament director.

Position Qualifications 

•    Interest in Sport Event management and willingness to work long hours.
•    Excellent Customer Service skills.
•    Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to
lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 25 pounds and the ability to stand for long periods of time in a fast-paced environment.

Event Operations Team Member

Position Summary

NSC Operations is looking for part-time event team members to join our growing organization. He/she will be focused on delivering great customer service by ensuring clean and safe facilities. This role provides for personal growth, interaction across departments, and a variety of different tasks. This position reports to full-time operations managers plays a critical role in the success of the organization.  

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing multiple buildings
  • Day-to-day operations of facility events
  • Campus logistics
  • Event setup and take down
  • Hands-on operational support
  • Coordinating with event operators and user groups
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to communicate with customers in courteous and calm manner
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent

NSC Super Rink

The NSC Super Rink is largest ice rink in North America featuring 8 sheets of ice, 4 of which are Olympic sized and the other 4 NHL sized.

NSC Front Desk Staffer - NSC Super Rink

The National Sports Center is located in Blaine, MN on a 600-acre campus and is considered a leader in the industry on a nation-wide scale. We are home to 8 indoor ice sheets, over 50 soccer fields, 18-hole golf course, and 100,000 square feet of indoor training and meeting space.

NSC Front Desk Worker

The National Sports Center / Super Rink, Blaine Minnesota is hiring for a part time Front Desk worker.

Front desk staff play a key role in creating a fun, energetic and family environment at the Super Rink.  Front desk staff are a constant support for the guests whether working as a Front Desk Cashier, Answering Phone Calls, Birthday Party Support, Ice Monitor, Skate Rental, or simply answering questions and assisting guests as needed.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Skate Rental, Front Desk, Ice Monitor
  • General customer service – interacting with customers, answering phones, program registrations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility.
  • Ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our guests using excellent customer service skills.

Ice Resurfacer Operator (Zamboni Driver)

The NSC Super Rink is looking for part-time Ice Resufacer Operators to give a great experience to all of our customers. Operators will take guidance from our managers and supervisors to maintain the building, resurface the ice on time according to schedule, assist with maintaining the equipment and maintain the cleanliness of the building.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Must be responsible, and able to work with the public efficiently and courteously
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent

GENERAL MAINTENANCE CUSTODIAN

Title:  NSC General Maintenance Custodian

Assignment:  NSC Super Rink/Indoor Facilities

Reports to:  Ice Arena Operations Manager

Competencies:  The ability to keep the ice arena building in a clean and sanitary condition.

Boundaries:  Primary hours will be weekdays and weekends at the Super Rink based on event needs

Duties Include:                       

Custodial

·         Maintain cleanliness of all rest rooms, locker rooms, offices, meeting space and common rooms.

·         Maintains a clean working environment.

·         Assist staff with needs of the building with set up and take down.

Operations:

  • Perform light duty facility improvements.
  • Opening of the building for customers

Relationships

·         Ability to communicate with staff on projects and inventory management.

Additional Duties As Assigned

·         Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Operations and Operations Manager

 

Education/Experience:  Minimum of two years’ experience working in janitorial or operations setting.

Classification:  Part time (30 – 40 hours) weekly

Terms of Employment:  At will

Compensation:  Based on educational and tenure with the NSC, paid bi-weekly

HOSPITALITY CONCESSIONS, CATERING ASSOCIATE, AND CULINARY ASSISTANT

Position Information

  • Location: All Campus Concession/Catering
  • Customer Service, Kitchen and Concession experience preferred but not required

Schedule

The schedule will vary based on events, including evenings and weekends.  Flexible hours are available.

Position Description

The National Sports Center is looking for energetic, self-motivated individuals with an outgoing personality, hard work ethic, a clean/neat and professional appearance, and can provide excellent customer service. This individual will be a representation of the National Sports Center

Position Responsibilities

  • Greeting customers
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Taking, assembling, and presenting food orders
  • Operating a cash register and requesting/receiving payment from customers
  • Cooking and preparing food – standing and constant moving
  • Culinary assistant is responsible to assist the kitchen managers and chefs in our catering department as well as our quick serve concessions
  • Assist in various food areas to ensure food and concessions are being prepared and packaged properly, and being delivered to the customer in a timely manner
  • Stocking concessions trailers and/or food or vendor stands
  • Assist in inventory counts to help with proper stock and rotation
  • Cleaning in accordance with the National Sports Center Sanitary Standards Associate will be trained in multiple areas within the concessions and catering position

Position Qualifications

  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 25 pounds and the ability to stand for long periods of time in a fast-paced environment
  • With training, ability to operate kitchen and concessions equipment such as popcorn popper, hotdog machine, kitchen ovens, etc.
  • Experience preferred but not necessary
